Dear Alps majesty,
I´m sending this simple but sincere description of our Tropical Kingdom after the city transformed its vibration:
Rio de Janeiro is an eccentric tropical kingdom surrounded by a chaotic and massive urban atmosphere. It was founded a very long time ago by the Portuguese and it owes its majestic environment for being the only capital of an European court in the Americas. After independence, Rio remained the capital of the federative republic until the transfer of power to the federal district of Brasília. But for some very special reason, Rio’s biggest treasure is its people. Its people embody an intense cultural flavor, a mixture of European, indigenous and African roots coming together in a very special music, the samba. The city’s most cherished attraction is the friendliness of the cariocas. This mixture of exotic cultures gives it its very unusual and splendid soul. Furthermore, Rio can be enjoyed by all personalities. It may be romantic and relaxing to some yet crazy and fun to others! Rio flows in the rhythm that you choose, but its soul is made of samba. Our cuisine is very special and it has a diverse blend of Brazilian spices. Arriving in Rio is like traveling to a babel of sounds, full of charm and style. Rio’s nature is blessed and the beach is the most democratic place to be! Our climate is wonderful, warm and sun, all year long. Everything is an excuse to celebrate! Rio is a cheio de vida (full of life) town!
